As is the case with most of our Shake and Date adventures, this was a first time visit to Zócalo for us, and we’ve definitely been missing out. Upon our arrival, as soon as we mentioned to the bartender Tim that it was our first time there, he went all out to make sure our experience was memorable. Being as we’re huge fans of nachos, we were going to order those, but on recommendation from Tim, we went ahead and ordered the Zoca Quesadilla. It looked more similar to a burrito rather than how I envision a quesadilla to look, but regardless, it was fantastic! We both ordered the blackberry margarita to accompany our appetizer, and that was delicious as well! Tim made sure we also got a sample of their Golden Cadillac margarita and their house margarita as well. He took the time to explain their margarita making process (how they measure, etc.) which is why theirs stand out above others. He also had us sample a “freshly made batch” of the blackberry margarita to taste the difference between that one and the first one we had. I’m not a margarita connoisseur by any means, but the first one taste just as good as the second one to me.
Zócalo also provides you with complimentary chips and salsa along with a black bean dip which was phenomenal. When all was said and done, after splitting our one appetizer, we were both stuffed! We’ll have to make a return trip to try out those nachos. If you haven’t already been there, I would for sure recommend you check out Zócalo.
