South Fork Grille

Our second Shake and Date adventure took us to South Fork Grille in El Dorado Hills. This was the first night we had upped our game and sported our new t-shirts I had made for these occasions. We also decided we needed to start taking a picture to commemorate the experience, and to order something a little fancier than a beer to drink. Their happy hour includes discounts off their appetizer menu and their drink menu, so we went for the Pork Belly Lettuce Wraps to eat and I had the Chili Bar Martini and Brian had the Deadman’s Blackberry Lemon drop.

First of all, I must say the bar top at the bar is cool as hell. If for no other reason you go here, you should go check that out!  The response time from placing our order to food set in front of you was very impressive. The Pork Belly Lettuce Wraps were simply delicious as were both of our drinks. This was my first time trying a spicy martini and if they’re all as good as this one was, I think I’m hooked! As more patrons filled in around us and placed their orders, the speed of the food arriving was still startlingly fast.

The bartender was cool and very attentive at the start, but then my drink ended up sitting empty and I was never offered another one (and it wasn’t due to it being busy). That dampened my opinion of the place a little at that time, however, not enough to not give them another go.
