Mas Taco Bar

Tonight’s episode of Shake and Date took us to Mas Taco Bar, where once again, the drinks and food were excellent! They do not offer complimentary chips and salsa, so we went ahead and ordered some (it was pretty cheap). The chips they provide you with are whole corn tortillas that you break apart. Accompanying the tortillas was both a red and green salsa. We both preferred the red salsa which was very tasty. We found the green to be a little to limey (is that a word?) I ordered the jalapeno, cilantro margarita and Brian settled on a blackberry margarita. If you like spicy, you have to try their jalapeno, cilantro margarita. It was fantastic! The blackberry one was very good as well and actually had blended up blackberries in it which made for a fun game later for Brian trying to get all of that out of his braces. We also ordered a street taco each. Mine was the drunken chicken and Brian got the cod fish taco. Those were both very pleasing to the taste buds as well.

We decided we’d each get a shot of tequila while we were there. I tend to be more cheap than I am choosy about liquor (for the most part), so we ordered the house tequila. Our bartender let us know that on Wednesdays, tequila is half off…except for the house brand, so ordering a shot of better tequila was actually going to cost us less. So we let him pick one for us and he made a good choice (I think it was Milagro). He then took the time to give us knowledge of the different varieties of Tequila. It was all very interesting and educational.

On a side note, we found the music they played during happy hour (it changed at 6pm) to be really good. But then again, we’re rockers, so we were having a blast.
