Buckhorn BBQ & Grill

Buckhorn BBQ & Grill is one of the locations in our bottle we had actually been to before, but were most definitely willing to go to again.  We decided to make this Shake and Date on a Friday, since we both have the day off and with the 5pm ending time of Happy Hour, we’d have a little more time to get there not having to go after work.

When we got there there was no bartender on duty, but we were told we could order up front from the Happy Hour menu. We ordered the “Burnt Ends” and the “OG Fries” for our appetizers and Brian got the “Koloa Passion Fruit Mai Tai” while I accidentally ordered the “Boom Tiki” (accidentally translates into I asked what one of the ingredients was in it and he thought that’s what I wanted…note to self…speak louder). The accident ended up being a fantastic choice (even though I still dont know what that one ingredient was). We can’t officially state how Brian’s was, because after a bartender showed up and we relocated from a booth to the bar, she tipped her head sideways while looking at his cocktail and asked, “what did you order?” We told her and she said, “they didn’t make it right” (her assessment was based on the color). What made both cocktails extra fun though, was the tiny umbrella resting in both of them. We hadn’t seen those in YEARS,  and yes we kept them. Thank you for asking.

Both of our appetizer choices were an absolute explosion of flavor in our mouths (I just had to wipe a little drool off my face while writing about them). The Burnt Ends are that best part of the tri-tip where all the seasonings gather in one place for your enjoyment. The OG Fries are parmeson garlic fries and they were cooked to perfection (crispy on the outside and soft in the middle). The portion size of the fries was so vast, we were (sadly) unable to finish them.

After we relocated to the bar, we had the pleasure of having Beth be our bartender. She was very personable and had a wealth of information to share about the other food items Buckhorn serves. We definitely need to get back to there to try the pulled pork Tacos which she stated is her favorite. She also informed us her last day there is this Sunday (3/31/24) as she is relocating her services to the new Dave and Busters that is opening on the April 1st. We now have to add one more location to our bottle.

Now let’s talk about everyone’s favorite taboo subject. Money. For two absolutely fabulous appetizers and two signature cocktails, our tab came to $32 (plus tip). We had yet to experience such amazing food and drinks for that little of money. As I said, we’ll absolutely be returning to Buckhorn BBQ & Grill in the future. We have to order those pulled pork Tacos and try the Long Island Ice Tea that Brian was told from a coworker is the best one around.

Side note, their Happy Hour only goes until 5pm, however, Beth informed us they talked about that in their last business meeting so it may be changing to a later hour. We hope so, because this is a must visit Happy Hour establishment.
